The Easy-to-Build Lightning Deck is a predominantly Lightning type deck found in the Team Rocket Strategy Guide. The deck is classified as one of the advanced decks in the book, containing more rare cards than the easy-to-build decks.

Description

If you don't have three copies of the Pokémon: The First Movie Promo #4 Pikachu, you can use other Pikachu for those you don't have. If you do get Promo #4 Pikachu, be sure to use its Recharge attack to get Lightning Energy from your deck. Don't use Thunderbolt unless it's your only chance to Knock Out a Defending Pokémon. Instead, evolve Pikachu into Dark Raichu. Use Dark Raichu's Surprise Thunder attack to do up to 20 damage to all your opponent's Benched Pokémon.

Magnemite's Selfdestruct may seem like a bad attack, but if you use Defender you can keep Magnemite from getting Knocked Out by its own attack. If you use two Defenders at the same time, Selfdestruct won't do any damage to Magnemite. Just be careful not to Knock Out any of your own Pokémon (unless you Knock Out more of your opponent's Pokémon).

If your opponent is playing a Fighting deck, be sure to use your Potions to keep Doduo and Spearow from getting Knocked Out. They're the only Pokémon in the deck that don't have a weakness to Fighting.
