Morrison
? (Japanese: マサムネ Masamune) is a fellow Pokémon trainer who is dressed in traditional Japanese attire. This may be a reference to Masamune, a swordsmith, or perhaps Date Masamune, a Daimyo. He first appeared in AG118.
[Ash]], Max, May, and Brock were relaxing in the woods one day when a giant rice ball came rolling down a hill, followed by a stocky male with red hair.
Masamune and Ash then competed in a Pokémon battle, Ash using Pikachu and Masamune using Beldum. The two knocked each other out in a tie. Ash then shows Masamune his badge case and Masamune freaks out and runs to the Pokémon Center.
Later, Ash meets Masamune at the Pokemon Center and the two race to get their Pokemon healed. The two then compete in a eating contest, and staying in very hot water. At night, Masamune sleeps outside with his Beldum to enjoy the nature, and Ash decides to join in with Pikachu.
In the morning the two compete in more challenges, until Team Rocket trap them in a cage. Masamune and Ash fight Seviper and Cacnea, and free Pikachu and Beldum. The two Pokémon work together and manage to defeat the Rockets.
Masamune then sails off, promising to meet Ash in the Hoenn League. A recent episode title revealed Masamune will come back in the Hoenn League. If the producers decide to follow the same pattern as Richie and Harrison, Ash will lose to Masamune. Many fans have noticed that Masamune resembles a overweight, male version of Misty
