Six Island is a small town, much like Five Island, and is on a large island. Six Island is the only city or town in the history of Pokémon to not have a route it borders end at the entrance, instead having the Water Path exist as a route passing by the town.
Similar to Five Island, and its counterpart, Seven Island, not much emphasis is put on the area within the town itself, instead the vast area near the island is the target of a Trainer's true calling. This includes Ruin Valley, the Dotted Hole at the center of which holds the Sapphire deep below it.
The background music used in Six Island is is a remix of the music played in Violet City and Olivine City of Johto.
Upon entering the Pokémon Center in town, Blue tells the player that he has seen enough of the Sevii Islands and that he is returning to Kanto to work on his Pokédex. It is after this that he returns to claim the title of Champion with his new team of Pokémon.
Also of note, there is a hidden Leppa Berry behind the fence and the Pokémon Center, which is useful because it can restore 10 PP on a move while in battle if held.
