Chief Sherles (Japanese: ヘッジ署長 Chief Hedji) is the much-overworked police chief of Pyrite Town. Keeping order in such an unruly town would be hard under normal circumstances.

The fact that he only has Officer Johnson working under him may mean that the police force in Pyrite Town is even more ineffective than one might initially think.

Luckily for Sherles, Duking normally keeps the peace in Pyrite Town. During the Shadow Pokémon incident in Orre, Wes and Rui also helped clean some of the nastier elements out of Pyrite - such as Miror B.

Chief Sherles helps arrest Evice at Realgam Tower during the ending of Pokémon Colosseum.

His name is problably a derivative of "Sherlock", after the famous fictional detective.
