Pikachū (Japanese: ピカチュウ) as a species are generally not very strong. However, Ash Ketchum's Pikachu is extremely powerful, capable of taking down Ground-types in a single hit (Ground-types is normally immune to Electricity). According to Meowth, Pikachu's power "vastly exceeds its evolutionary level". Its universal voice is 大谷育江 Ikue Ohtani.
