Synopsis

Template:Incomplete synopsis On the road to Goldenrod City, Ash and friends decide to take a break at a nearby lake and relax with their Pokémon. Unfortunately their fun quickly ends when Team Rocket suddenly appears and tries to steal all of their Pokémon. Team Rocket's plan is foiled when a group of disgruntled Ursaring appears and attacks them and everybody soon finds themselves running for their lives. In the confusion Jessie and Misty wind up switching places. Jessie finds herself stuck with Ash, Brock, and Pikachu, while Misty is stranded with James and Meowth. After forming a temporary truce the two groups begin to search the forest for their lost comrades, dodging Ursaring the entire time.

Along the way Jessie and Misty get a first hand look at how their rival team operates. Jessie is impressed by the kindness the "twerps" show her and reminisces about her dreams before she joined Team Rocket, while James and Meowth find that they've merely swapped one bossy red head for another one. When the two groups are finally reunited they are forced to work together in order to finally escape the Ursaring for good. Back together, they dissolve the truce and begin fighting again, with Team Rocket predictably "blasting off again". Afterwards, Ash notices a sign that explained why the Ursaring attacked everwhere they saw one. It read, "WARNING! It is currently the Ursaring mating season and they are using this area as their breeding grounds. Do not disturb them if it's the last thing you do, cuz if you do, it just may be."
