Wouldn't this be more aptly titled as "Old Man glitch"? Duplicating Rare Candies is only a small part of what this glitch is used for and about. A redirect for "Rare candy cheat" would be fine, and the introductory paragraph could be like "The Old Man Glitch, also known as the "Rare Candy cheat" due to its item duplicating effects..." or something to that effect. Just my $0.02, though. [[User:Zesty Cactus|<span style="color:#006400">'''Zesty'''</span>]][[User talk:Zesty Cactus|<span style="color:#3CB371">'''Cactus'''</span>]] 03:56, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

shouldnt this page mention that its possible to fight trainers while doing the glitch? the beta class Chief says they can be fought with this glitch and idk about any of you guys, but when i do the glitch, i somtimes find my rival! he uses 2 Nidorinos, 2 glitch box things, a missingno., and somthing else. That's a result of the MISSINGNO. glitch (the Cinnibar Coast bug), not the result of the Rare Candy Cheat. The Rare Candy cheat is itself a result of the Cinnibar Coast bug. --DavidJCobb 17:35, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

The reason the item count is changed is because every Pokemon has a "Pokedex" bit that tells the game its Pokedex status (0=not seen, 127=seen, 255=caught) and that the reason your items are altered is because MISSINGNO.'s Pokedex bit is in the same location in memory as the amount of the sixth item in your inventory. (which is why the items will always be changed to ?28 (128) (or ?55 (255) if you catch MISSINGNO.)) Should I add this to the article? --DavidJCobb 17:35, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

I would say yes, as that is quite interesting, but it looks like someone already did. Thevictor390 14:45, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
I'm sure when I did it I always ended up with ?9. HyperHacker 05:08, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
