Trivia
- This is the second episode of the week in the Pokémon Summer Academy where someone is put into a hypnotic state of mind.
- This is the first time that music from The Rise of Darkrai is used as background music.
- An updated version of the music from the Sealed Chamber, Desert Ruins, Island Cave and Ancient Tomb in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald is used.
- The ghost of the little girl may have been based on the girl who appears in the Old Chateau. Her actions towards the end of the episode may hint that she was a demon.
- The ghost of the little girl smirks and makes a cry similar to the one Mewtwo heard from Mew, which could possibly mean that she is a transformed Pokémon.
- In addition, her arms were long and disproportionate compared to a normal girl of that age. This may further imply that she is a Pokémon, as there are similar Template:Type2 Pokémon with disproportionate arms such as Banette or Sableye.
- She also has some similar traits as the younger Sabrina Ash and his friends encountered in Kanto.
- The title is a pun of the phrase "school days".
- An earlier episode has a similar title to this episode's.
- A Template:T2 Pokémon from all the four regions appeared in this episode.
- In one scene, Ash mentioned to Pikachu to just count to ten when a Haunter grabbed Shinx's tail. This could refer to a Japanese myth about a ghost who is unable to count to ten, then suddenly disappears.
Errors
- In one scene, Professor Rowan's neck and ear are the same color as his hair.
Dub edits
- Dango is called a fried cakeball skew.
