Notability rules
The following are guidelines to which Pokémon are notable in the Pokémon manga to get their own articles on Bulbapedia:
Pokémon Special
- Starter Pokémon that are owned by any of the main characters are all notable, provided they have appeared in more than one chapter/round. If they have not met this criteria, then they would have to have a significant impact on the plot of the chapter/round, manga series as a whole, or a certain arc.
- Other Pokémon owned by main characters are notable, provided they have appeared in more than two chapters/rounds AND had a significant impact on the plot of the chapter/round, manga series as a whole, or a certain arc.
- For recurring characters, only their signature Pokémon may have an article. Otherwise, they would have to have a certain impact on the plot of the chapter/round to be notable. Exceptions to this rule can be made for either side.
- Gym Leaders may have an article about their signature Pokémon, but only if it did more than just fight, such as if it appeared outside of battle and had some impact on the plot of that chapter/round. Exceptions to this rule can be made for either side.
