James's Masukippa (Japanese: コジロウのマスキッパ Kojiro's Masukippa) was the first Pokémon that James obtained in the Diamond & Pearl anime. However, he caught Masukippa long before its first appearance in Find Pikachu! Route 202!. In the first episode, he found its Poké Ball in a collection of bottlecaps he had left at his family mansion in Shin'ō.

Much like his Victreebel, Masukippa likes trying to eat his head when it is released. However, much like his Cacnea's prickly hugs, this is obviously an act of pure affection.
