Sanpei faced [[James]] in the [[PokéRinger]] competition in [[Wind Town]]. He choose his {{p|Skiploom}} to go against [[Jessie]]'s, though being used by James, {{TP|Jessie|Yanmega}}. James criticized him for using such a Pokémon for a PokéRinger competition. But when an updraft hit the two Pokémon, Yanmega was left disoriented and fell to the ground. The updraft worked to Skiploom's favor and it easily grabbed the ring from the balloon and brought it to the goal, earning Sanpei the win.

(Japanese: サンペイ Sanpei) is a one-time character who appeared in DP118. He is voiced by Chie Satō in Japanese.

James criticized him for using such a Pokémon for a PokéRinger competition. But when an updraft hit the two Pokémon, Yanmega was left disoriented and fell to the ground. Sanpei would later go on to battle Paul but was defeated by him.
