Trivia
This is the only card in the TCG able to inflict the Char condition, which served as an inspiration for the Burned condition later introduced in the Expedition Base Set. The primary differences between the two are that Char doesn't count as a Special Condition, and remains on a Pokémon even while on the bench.
Origin
SmokeScreen is a move in the Pokémon games that Quilava can learn. The card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Gold.
