==Locations==
In {{game|Diamond and Pearl|s|Pokémon Diamond, Pearl}}, and [[Pokémon Platinum Version|Platinum]], snow tiles can be found on {{rt|216|Sinnoh}}, {{rt|217|Sinnoh}}, [[Acuity Lakefront]], [[Snowpoint City]], and [[Mt. Coronet]].

In {{game|HeartGold and SoulSilver|s}}, they appear at [[Mt. Silver Cave]] and at the [[Sinjoh Ruins]].

In [[Pokémon X and Y]], snow tiles are found on {{rt|17|Kalos}}.

==Mechanics==
===Generation IV===
In {{game2|Diamond|Pearl|Platinum}}, the player can sink into the snow at four different levels: 
* sinking only minimally, which does not affect movement speed; 
* sinking a moderate amount, preventing running; 
* sinking a lot, preventing running and halving walking speed; and 
* sinking the farthest possible, preventing running and reducing walking speed to 1/4.

It is not possible for the player to [[bicycle|cycle]] over a snow tile, regardless of its depth.

===Generation VI===
In [[Pokémon X and Y]], snow tiles can only be traversed by riding {{p|Mamoswine}}. A Mamoswine Ride Pokémon is available on Route 17 for the player to use. Wild Pokémon can appear when the player traverses snow tiles, even when there is no [[tall grass]].

==In battle==
Certain moves have special effects when used in a battle on a snow tile.
