The Wii mini is the smallest revision for the Wii. It was released in Canada on December 7, 2012, in Europe on March 15, 2013 (with the exception of the United Kingdom, where it was released on March 22, 2013), and in the United States on November 17, 2013; it was not released in Japan, however.

It was discontinued worldwide on November 13, 2017.

Comparison to the original Wii

  • Like the Wii Family Edition, the Wii mini:
    • Is incompatible with Nintendo GameCube games or hardware like the original model was.
    • Can only sit horizontally.
  • This model is missing online features and several built-in channels, such as the Photo Channel and WiiConnect24 channels, similar to the Wii Mode on the Wii U.
  • There is no SD card slot, restricting the console to only playing games from Wii game discs.
  • There is only one USB port.
  • The Wii mini can only use composite video cables, rather than the S-Video and component video cables used by the original Wii.
