Trivia

  • On page 118 and 119 for Orre Colosseum Round 6 and 7 respectively, Ardos and Eldes are both referred to as “Mystery Guest”.
  • From page 120 to page 166, the moves learned via level-up include the moves learned upon purification. Interestingly, this carries over to the Pokémon’s evolved forms with an example being Breloom on page 124 where it is stated to learn False Swipe and Refresh at level 1. Ironically, the entry for Shroomish on page 157 omits this detail.

Errors

  • Relic Cave is called Relic Stone Cave and Citadark Isle is called Citadark Island.
  • The trainer section for Mt. Battle doesn't list any Trainer classes.
  • On pages 27 and 90, TM30 (Shadow Ball) is called TM30 (Shadow Punch).
  • On page 37, Milk Drink is called Mild Drink.
  • On page 38, Ice Beam is listed as a Water-type move instead of an Ice-type move. On that same page Lanturn is listed as an Electric-type instead of a Water/Electric type.
  • On page 39, Swampert's Ability is listed as Quiet instead of Torrent.
  • On page 70, Mantine is listed as a pure Flying type instead of a Water/Flying type.
  • On page 72, Own Tempo is called Own Pace. Interestingly, this error is a combination of the English name of the Ability and its Japanese name My Pace (マイペース).
  • On page 91, the guide recommends using Grass-type and Psychic-type moves against Team Snagem Golit. While Grass-type moves will work against four out of five of his Pokémon, Psychic-type moves will deal either neutral damage or will have no effect against his Crawdaunt.
  • On page 108, the guide recommends using Fire-type and Ice-type moves against Snattle. Fire-type moves will work against his Metang and Scizor but are resisted by his Quagsire, Starmie, and Solrock and will only deal neutral damage to his Castform. Incidentally, Ice-type moves are resisted by four of his Pokémon while the remaining two only receive neutral damage.
  • On page 112, the guide states that all opposing Pokémon in the Orre Colosseum will be Level 64. Interestingly, the very next section on the same page states that all Pokémon’s level will scale to the highest level of the player’s Pokémon in the party.
  • From page 120 to page 166, there are general errors that occur with what counts as a type Pokémon are considered strong against and weak against. The guide swaps between that “Strong against” refers to what type the Pokémon resists or whether the attacks of their type would be effective against the listed moves. Conversely, the types a Pokémon is listed to be weak against are sometimes factually wrong.
    • An example of an inconsistency of types a Pokémon is strong against is with Normal-type Pokémon. On page 123, Blissey is stated to be strong against Ghost-types due to having a type immunity to them. However, Ursaring on page 163 is stated to not be strong against any type.
    • On page 117, Jolteon's Ability is listed as Absorb instead of Volt Absorb.
    • On page 120, Ampharos is stated to be weak against Dark-type attacks. However, Ampharos only takes neutral damage to those type of moves.
    • On page 121 under the entry for Aron, text that reads “Aron LV32” is randomly placed in its section for stats. This appears to be a duplication error as the same text is found in the correct place under its evolutionary line.
    • On page 125, Carvanha is stated to learn Powder Snow at level 1. Carvanha, purified or caught in the main series games, does not learn Powder Snow under any circumstances in Generation III.
    • On page 130, Electrode is stated to be weak against Dark-type attacks. Electrode receives neutral damage to Dark-type attacks.
      • On page 164, the entry for Voltorb faces the same issue.
    • On page 133, Flygon is stated to be weak against Water- and Grass-type moves. Flygon receives neutral damage to these types of moves.
      • On page 164, the same issue above occurs with the entry for Vibrava.
    • On page 137, Hoppip is stated to be weak against Fire-, Flying-, Rock- and Poison-type moves. Interestingly, the guide does not state that Hoppip is also weak to Ice-type attacks which is also the type that deals quadruple damage to it.
      • On page 138, the same issue above occurs with Jumpluff.
    • On page 146, Moltres is stated to be weak against Water- and Rock-type attacks. The guide does not state that Moltres is also weak to Electric-type attacks.
    • On page 157, Skiploom is stated to be weak to Fire-, Electric-, Ice-, Poison-, and Bug-type moves. While the Ice-type move weakness with Hoppip and Jumpluff has been corrected, a new error has been made where the guide states that Skiploom is weak to Electric and Bug-type moves when it actually takes neutral damage to those types of moves. The guide fails to mention that Skiploom is weak to Rock-type moves while it was mentioned in Hoppip and Jumpluff’s entry. Interestingly, the guide also states Skiploom to be strong and weak against Bug-type moves.
    • On page 157, Snorlax is said to be captured from Cipher Peon Ardos, who is actually a Cipher Admin.
    • On page 159, Surskit is stated to be weak against Fire-type moves. Surskit receives neutral damage to these types of moves.
