Wild Terastal Pokémon
(..just for future reference??) I think there should be a distinction between Terrastillized Raid Pokémon, and wild Terrastallized Pokémon (those with a glow).
I believe the latter always have a non-level-up move of their Tera Type, e.g. I have a Grafaiai with X-Scissor, a Growlithe with Dig, a Jigglypuff with Water Pulse, and a Tauros with Wild Charge (all of which are TM moves). Nescientist (talk) 16:41, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
- I can confirm that Tera Raid Pokémon do not necessarily have a move of their Tera Type, at least at low levels; I caught a Finneon at Lv. 12 in a Tera Raid Battle and it very much did not have a move of its Tera Type (Ice), although it could learn one via TM. On that note, is it confirmed that Pokémon will never naturally have a Tera Type that they cannot learn at least one STAB move from (Tera Blast notwithstanding)?
- As an aside, one important distinction between the two is that Wild Tera Pokémon (and only Wild Tera Pokémon) will have their Terastallization shatter when reduced to 20%[citation needed] health by an attack, and cannot be reduced below that while Terastallized - although damage from Status Effects ignores this limitation, allowing a Wild Tera Pokémon to faint while still Terastallized. Name Change
Why is this page still called "Terastal phenomenon"? The name is too long and too clunky to use. Terastallize would be fine as a name for the page. Keeping "phenomenon" in the name is like calling the Dynamax page the "Dynamax phenomenon" or the Z-Moves page the "Z-Move phenomenon" it feels unnecessary. The game even has a button simply call "Terastallize" before you Terastallizes a Pokemon, similar to how in Sword and Sheild had the Dynamax button.
I have seen plenty of pages just call the form "Terastallized [Pokémon Name]" when referring to the Pokemon's Terastal form, when it could be shorten to "Tera [Pokemon Name]". This page even uses "Tera Pokémon" not "Terastallized Pokémon" when refering to the wild Tera Pokémon. The Pokemon cards simply name the form "Tera [Pokémon Name]" which we could use as a shortened name for the form, like how instead of saying "Mega Evolved Lucario", its just "Mega Lucario".
We can simply just add a naming convention in the intro like the Mega Evolution and Dynamax/Gigantamax pages do. It could go something like this
Terastallized Pokémon are identified by having "Tera" in front of their species name e.g. "Tera Arcanine". The process itself can describe the Pokémon as having "Terastallized" in past-tense, or will "Terastallize" in future-tense. - I'm not sure the name being long and clunky itself is a good enough reason to change it, and we have redirects and a link template for it (Template:Terastal). That being said, I agree that the name isn't completely ideal, but I'm not sure Terastallize, Terastal, Tera, or Terastallization are suitable replacements either, personally. New Terra Type in Indigo Disk
Just recently I noticed on X that in the trailer for the Indigo Disk, there's a new Terra Type that has been shown. And from the looks of it, I have a funny feeling this Terra Type will replicate the effect of the Legend Plate. LatiusAuro (talk) 11:23, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

"Terastal Form"?
This is something Ciberdavid99 (a user of WikiDex, our sister wiki) has brought up to me, but it's also something i've been thinking since yesterday: are they really called "Terastal Forms"?
I checked the in-game texts and there is no "Terastal Form" being used anywhere to Ogerpon in its Terastallized state. "Terastal Form" so far only exists in this official website, where it is described as a form of Terapagos. Ciberdavid99 has also pointed out to me that "Terastal Form" is not necessarily Terapagos's Terastallized state (esp given that it doesn't sparkle like Terastallized Pokemon do), and it could be the form it takes when it is about to Terastallize instead of during it.
I think it would be better if we instead described Ogerpon's forms as "Special Terastallized states" or something, and separate it from Terapagos since we don't really know anything about it. Anzasquiddles 2222(:D)SSSS (talk page) 11:54, 16 September 2023 (UTC)

Stellar Type
