Two tables

>Could someone seperate this into two tables? One for males and one for females? I tried it myself but couldn't work it out. - Zeta

Like that? ^_^ - Ferret 07:20, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

An excellent opportunity to demonstrate the usefulness of <gallery>. - 振霖T 08:05, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

Sadly, using a table with cells in a row for a gallery breaks the layout on smaller browser widths... --Meowth346, CSS Advocate

German

Ass trainer?? (in German) --HTMLCODER.exe@bulbapedia$_ /usr/bin/apache2 -k restart 18:14, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

So... Cool Trainer or Ace Trainer?

I know the German version (or at least presume as much with German's similarities to English) literally translates to Ace Trainer, and in DP they're known as Ace Trainers, but they've always been known as Cooltrainers... Now, I'm definitely trying to stop a move war before it starts here, so what shall we do with the page? Should it be known as Ace Trainer with a statement that prior to Generation IV they were known as Cool Trainers, or have it the other way around, with a statement that in Diamond and Pearl they were known as Ace Trainers?

Personally, I'd say keep them at Cool Trainer until we know that they'll never again be known as that, then change it, since we know for a fact that Nintendo of America's made some pretty big errors in their localization (Charine, anyone?). --TTEchidna 17:09, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

I say in this instance, we go with the most up-to-date names. Particularly since in DP, they seem to have cleaned up their translation, such as with the lack of NOUNS IN ALL CAPS and with better phrasing in battle dialogue. --Pie ~ 17:28, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

In the original games, they are called Jr. Trainers so we should include that name. --1-Up 22:17, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

You're thinking of Campers and Picnickers. --Shiningpikablu252 00:09, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

If we changed Cue Ball to Roughneck, Cool Trainer should be moved to Ace Trainer. Satosuke 15:33, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

I think it should be moved to Ace Trainer. For one thing, it's a more accurate translation of the Japanese Elite Trainer. --Evice 21:10, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
If in HGSS they stay as Aces, it's moving. TTEchidna 06:54, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
They're aces in HGSS. Move? CuboneKing 04:57, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Possibly Rockets?

Is it me, or do the Generation I sprites look similar to Rockets but without the unifrom? Seth Graystone 22:48, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Slightly. It's the whip that does it. But we generaly don't incorporate "X looks like Y" trivia. — THE TROM — 22:53, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

PBR

Should we include Cool Boy and Cool Girl PBR sprites? I'd do it myself but I don't know the png file. - unsigned comment from Giratina's Embodiment (talkcontribs) 20:37, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Move!

I think we should move Cool Trainers to Ace Trainers because I want it to be like about NOW! Not THEN, NOW! Anyone agrees? *Press button "Yay" while Obama press "Nay"* --The Bulb's Master 23:40, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

A) What? B) Don't bring politics into it. I think we should wait to see if they keep the Ace Trainer renaming, then decide what to do later. The Dark Fiddler - You enter a poorly lit room... 23:58, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
As I said in another section, I think it should be moved to Ace Trainer, and that it's a more accurate translation of the Japanese name for the class. I also second leaving politics out of this, because politics don't belong on a wiki about Pokémon. --Evice 21:11, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
They were called Cool Trainers the last time we went to Johto. The name may not change. Give it a week or so until the release date. That's what Mister Fiddler was insinuating. —darklordtrom 04:16, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Lists

Anyone going to do the listing for Cooltrainers & their Pokemon in each game, like we did some of the other Trainer classes? Because if anyone does, I'd be glad to help. Prince Marx 15:19, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Name issue

Was it fixed in Platinum? Ace Trainer, I mean. ht14 02:19, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

Nope, still aces. TTEchidna 06:54, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

TMs notable?

So, I encountered an Ace Trainer on Route 210 (Alyssa, I believe?) who had an Aipom with Water Pulse [clarification: in Platinum]. I don't know if other Cool Trainers have access to TMs, or even if other (non-Gym Leader, etc.) classes can have TM moves on their Pokémon - so is this notable? Anaphysik 06:38, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Not really... CuboneKing 02:32, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

As a Player

I know the player can have a Trainer Class (for their GTS appearance and such), but how do you become an Ace Trainer? I've beaten the Pokémon League, but I still appear as a Rich Boy. --Nathan2055talk 19:39, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

In which games? In the Gen IV games there's someone you can talk to in the Pokémon Center of the city with the first gym who will change it. Although as far as I can recall, you only get to choose from four trainer classes unless you mix records. Which four depends on your Trainer ID number. Werdnae (talk) 04:44, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Generation IV. Does this mean some players have the option to be an Ace Trainer? I've seen a lot of people that are Ace Trainers, more than other classes. --Nathan2055talk 20:12, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Some do. I'm sure I saw a list or something similar describing which ID numbers get which trainer classes to choose from at one point, but I can't find it at the moment. IIRC, mixing records with someone who can be an Ace Trainer should also give you the option to be one. Werdnae (talk) 04:13, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
OK, thank you. --Nathan2055talk 22:45, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

D/P/Pt Classification

Does anyone else think we should label the trainers from D/P/Pt that have the green hair and the brown clothes "Forest" or something? We call the ones with the furry coats snow... uNsUsPeCtInG fOoL (talk) 17:43, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Not all non-snow Aces appear in forests, though. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 17:45, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

X and Y VS "sprite"

VSAce Trainer M.pngVSAce Trainer F.png

This pretty much goes for all trainer classes available in Pokémon X and Y, but how exactly should we use trainer "sprites" like these on their own page? I guess, technically they aren't sprites anymore, but that's beyond the point. ----NateVirus(Talk|Contributions) 07:18, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Ace Trainer/ Bird Keeper

This probably is not important, but I wanted to point out that the Gen IV Ace Trainer overworld sprite is the same as the Gen IV overworld sprite for the female Bird Keeper. RapidashRocks524 (talk) 03:45, 4 October 2014 (UTC)

Surfing Ace Trainers

The trivia currently states "Despite appearing on top of Surfing Pokémon, some Ace Trainers on Hoenn's water routes battle without Pokémon that know Surf." This implies that there are some that do use Pokémon that know Surf. To my knowledge, this is not the case. Can someone confirm? --SnorlaxMonster 04:01, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Trainer list split

Due to the presence of the Ace Trainer in every main series game and all the side series games, there is a very huge list of Trainers on this page. I propose a separate page listing the Trainers and their Pokémon, i.e. Ace Trainer (Trainer class)/Trainer list. ht14 06:01, 17 June 2017 (UTC)

Is it really necessary? I feel like doing so for this one page specifically would be a little silly. While it may be unusually long for a page, I feel like it wouldn't really be solving any relevant problems - the tables all are easily hidden and thus don't cause an undue issue for those seeking to scroll through the page or anything. Perhaps there are others who do feel it's worth it though? It seems this has gone undiscussed for some time. --a (talk) 06:28, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

It is. It causes all the the templates under the references section to not appear. I strongly support a split.--MissDelibirda (talk) 20:00, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
That's a good point. I've taken the liberty of performing the split. If there are any issues or I failed to properly follow procedure, please don't hesitate to tell me. Thank you. NARFNra 22:31, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
Only staff can make the decision to split off articles, do not do as you please.--ForceFire 02:30, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
I apologize, I was not properly aware of the process and thought it was like other changes due to differences in policy between wikis I've interacted with in the past. Thanks for informing me. I guess all I can do in that case is state that if the problem MissDelibirda states is truly causing difficulty for the page, it would be nice for someone with the power to do something about it to examine this possibility. That's all I have to say. NARFNra 04:33, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

Could Drew from the Pokemon Anime be based off an Ace Trainer

The male Hoenn Ace Trainers have green hair and eyes that are similar to drew from the Pokemon anime. Do you guys think that drew could actually be based off this trainer class? If yes, do you think its worth adding to Drews page? - unsigned comment from NARFNra (talkcontribs)

He just has green hair and green eyes. Nothing else about them is similar. In any case, this would have been better to discuss on Drew's page. Landfish7 06:40, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
