EV-enhancing item

EV-enhancing items are items which enhance the EVs gained when a Pokémon is defeated. All of them halve the Speed of the Pokémon holding them in battle while they are being held.

Macho Brace

  • Found under where Giovanni stands hidden in Viridian Pokémon Gym after defeating him. (FR/LG).
  • Gift from boy in Pastoria City after showing him all three forms of Burmy (D/P).
  • Gift from boy in Pastoria City after showing him both genders of Combee (Pt).
• Use: Doubles any effort values the Pokémon holding it gets, but halves its Speed in battle. Stacks with Pokérus.

Power Weight

• Japanese: パワーウエイト Power Weight
• Sell for: 1500
• Found:
  • Battle Tower/Frontier (16BP)
• Use: Promotes HP EV gain on level up, but halves Speed stat in battle. Adds 4 EVs regardless of the Pokémon fought. Is doubled by Pokérus. In HeartGold and SoulSilver if this item is held by a parent when breeding at the Daycare Center the HP IV of the parent holding this item will be passed down to the baby.

Power Bracer

• Use: Promotes Attack EV gain on level up, but halves Speed stat in battle. Adds 4 EVs regardless of the Pokémon fought. Is doubled by Pokérus.
