Generation VI
May poison a target when the Pokémon makes contact.

Poison Touch (Japanese: どくしゅ Underhanded) is an Ability introduced in Generation V. Seven Pokémon can have this Ability.

In battle

If a Pokémon with this Ability uses a move that makes contact, there is a 30% chance the target will become poisoned. In Japanese versions of Black and White, there is instead a 20% chance.

This chance applies independently of any moves that may have a chance to poison the target with their own effect.

The chance of being poisoned is based off the game that activated the effect. Since effects are generated client side (the game who "uses" a skill) first and then sent to the opposing player, in a battle where with a Japanese version vs. a non-Japanese, the Japanese player will still have only a 20% chance to poison, while the non-Japanese game will have the 30% chance to poison. This only applies to Generation V, since Generation VI has the same chance to poison regardless of the game's origin.

Outside of battle

Poison Touch has no effect outside of battle.
