The Mew Gift Set is a special Deck Kit for the Pokémon Trading Card Game and was released in Japan only.
Release date
- The set was released on 16th November 2005.
Trivia
- The gift set contains four Quarter Decks, each one centralising around a particular Pokémon. Of interest are Mew and Lucario, as they feature in the 8th Pokémon Movie. Also included are two Pokémon
, which originally sent the price of the gift set soaring overseas.
- Many of the cards have since appeared in EX Holon Phantoms. One notable absentee is Lucario, as Nintendo never release a character in the TCG before it has appeared in a major Pokémon game. Lucario eventually made its English TCG debut in Diamond & Pearl.
- The same style tin was used for the Deoxys vs Rayquaza Gift Set.
- In addition to the cards, the set contains a rulebook, damage counters, generic counters, a custom coin (gold Pikachu coin) and a playmat.
