Courtney (Japanese: ヒロコ Hiroko) is the first Grand Master. She plays using the Legendary Moltres Deck (Japanese: でんせつのファイアーデッキ Legendary Fire Deck). In Pokémon Card GB2: Here Comes Team GR!, she uses the グランドファイヤーデッキ Grand Fire Deck.

Courtney is the first of the 4 Grand Masters, that is available to battle after you obtained all eight Club Medals.

Her deck strategy seems to be half powerful attacks, half opponent annoyance. She also uses Pokémon Trader to find mostly her Moltre with the Firegiver Pokémon Power, which brings 1-4 Fire Energy cards to her hand when it's placed on the bench. She has Pokémon that can annoy with status ailments like her Fossil Magmar's Smog and Smokescreen, and her Vulpis with its Confuse Ray. Energy Removal helps prevent enemy attack, and Lass thwarts Trainer Card based strategies. She also retrieves many of her discarded Fire Energy cards with Energy Retrieval. A good deck to defeat her would be nothing but Water types, mostly ones that can attack early or hard.

In Pokémon Card GB2

At the start of the game, Courtney was kidnapped by Great Rocket and imprisoned in the Fire Fort. After being freed by the player, she will give the player an Arcanine.

Later on, you are required to fight her in the Pokémon Dome to obtain one of the Legendary cards - Moltres.
