Release information

This card was included in the Guardians Rising expansion with artwork by You Iribi, first released in the Japanese Islands Await You expansion. It was later included as a Mirror Holofoil print in the Japanese Facing a New Trial subset. It was reprinted as one of the Japanese SM-P Promotional cards with new artwork by kirisAki, made available in the Alolan Vulpix Special Set from April 21, 2017, which could be purchased at Pokémon Centers, Pokémon Stores, and other participating store chains, including: 7-Eleven, Circle K Sunkus, Daily Yamazaki, FamilyMart, Ministop, and Lawson. This print later became an English Yellow A Alternate card, available in the Ultra Prism Three Pack Blisters released February 2, 2018. Another Japanese SM-P Promotional version of this print with a different collection number was 1 of 5 cards available in special packs of Daiichi Choco & Custard Pan and Daiichi Bacon & Potato Pan from December 1, 2018. This version has the Daiichi Pan Pokémon Pan logo on the bottom right corner of the artwork.

Two versions of the Guardians Rising print were included in the Sun & Moon Trainer Kit: Alolan Sandslash & Alolan Ninetales. Both feature a blue circle at the bottom right of the card, one with a 14 inside it and the other with a 29. These numbers indicated the cards' position in the deck for a practice duel. Variants of the Guardians Rising print were available again as part of the French McDonald's Collection 2018, both as Non Holofoil and Reverse Confetti Holofoil cards. The Guardians Rising print was reprinted in the Japanese GX Ultra Shiny subset. A new print with artwork by Kouki Saitou featuring the Shiny version of Alolan Vulpix was included in the Hidden Fates expansion, which was also included in the GX Ultra Shiny subset.

A Cosmos Holofoil version of the Guardians Rising print was given away at Toys "R" Us stores in 2017 to celebrate the expansion's release. It features the store logo in the bottom left corner of the artwork.
