Moon (Japanese: ムーン Moon) is the female player character in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Her male counterpart is Sun.

As the protagonist
Moon is a girl who recently moved from the Kanto region to Melemele Island in the Alola region. After moving in, she quickly befriends Hau. Early in her adventure, Moon meets the guardian deity of Melemele Island, Tapu Koko.

- Pre-release media referred to Moon as "Moon" (Japanese: ムーン Moon, Korean: 문 Moon). The name "Selene" (Japanese: ミヅキ Mizuki, Korean: 미월 Miwol) has also been used.
- Unused internal data refers to Moon as (Japanese: ラナ Lana), Hawaiian for afloat.
