Revision as of 00:12, 12 January 2015

Hello. I found a page by another user which contains some information you might want to consider for use in your article. --Tharja (talk) 22:09, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

Learnset (Here and at Hoopa's)

Since you had a complete learnset, I hope you didn't mind my adding the Contest info for everything except Steam Eruption, which is not yet known. Same with Hyperspace Hole on the Hoopa page. I kept the switches on that one, so they should still function! CycloneGU (talk) 06:41, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for helping! But next time, please notify me before adding anything, especially because most of the Pokémon articles' movesets in the mainspace don't have Contest info. ;) I really appreciate your help! By the way, great work! Phiraptor28 (talk) 13:57, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
The reason most don't have them is because people haven't gone, after a month, to do them unless it's ones they know or generally feel are important. As of last nite, every Hoenn species has FULL contest info (tended to that myself), and half of Kanto is now complete. As Ribose is currently taking care of that (excepting a typo of appeal or jam somewhere, that will be found with time if so), I've left the rest alone, having done TM lists for those with family in Hoenn already. I'm continuing with the regional starters as I type, then might move to the smaller Kalos or Sinnoh groups or the larger Unova group. Only thing I'm NOT doing is adding the ORAS column if there isn't already one (and that's generally there ATM with catchable and evolvable species, with exceptions). I did the Contest data here because I knew I was going to have a lot more of it complete by the time these go to the mainspace, and Diancie, Zygarde, Yveltal, and Xerneas I've already ensured are completed, meaning it'll fit in that way with the other legendaries. Just need those two missing moves someday. =)
I will ask about any other changes, but I likely will not have any other changes to make. I also did ask another active editor here, but never saw a response and wanted to clear the lists from my screen (the laptop I edited those lists on is now in the shop...again), so decided to be bold. Page Deletion

Does this page need to be deleted because Volcanion has not officially been revealed yet? I thought that Bulbapedia was supposed to only include official information and therefore this page is not supposed to exist yet. I thought that is why when Hoopa's new form was found by hacking, Bulbapedia was locked for editing until some time after ORAS released. Water Max (talk) 13:13, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

FWIW, staff moved it, so staff are more or less okay with it. As for the reasoning, you'll have to wait for one of them to respond. Though I suppose it's possible they could also change their mind (in which case it would just be moved back to its userspace origin, not deleted). Tiddlywinks (talk) 13:17, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
You will note that I also reverted the link being added at the Bulbasaur article before looking and seeing that it was in the mainspace, which told me staff was OK with it despite not being announced (Crystal Talian moved Volcanion to the mainspace). So I reverted myself upon seeing that. CycloneGU (talk) 15:26, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
They could have just changed their minds. They did this with Mega Latios and Latias as well. --HoennMaster 19:18, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
Well, if it stays in the mainspace, it should at least be locked to editing until Volcanion is officially revealed. Adamws (talk) 19:21, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
There's no need to lock it completely. Why assume there will be trouble? There are still protections from NOVEMBER 2013 in place at Zygarde so that only established users can edit it; the reason was because the page was protected from creation at the time. Clearly it exists now and the protection hasn't been removed even though Xerneas and Yveltal don't have this protection (and it should be removed). So why put on yearlong protection that someone might forget to nix? If something happens, lock it for a week, but most of the Pokémon world knows about their existence now and staff decided the article can be there, so why treat it differently? Vandalism wouldn't get far - it gets spotted on Recent Changes, someone looks, it's reverted, and the situation handled. If it becomes a repetitive thing, then yes, protect the page temporarily.
