001Bulbasaur RG.png Due to special coding in place in the article, the artwork featured on this article will change every year on November 21 and October 15 in celebration of the releases of Gold and Silver in Japan, and Gold and Silver in the United States. This will only affect the artwork shown in the infobox. This changes every year, so when the time comes, here to return to the page and change the display.

Egg moves?

Apparently, Tyrogue can get egg moves from its evolutions (such as Hi Jump Kick from Hitmonlee and Bullet Punch from Hitmonchan), but how? I thought male passed moves and female passed species, but the Hitmons are male-only. Baby G 20:55, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Ditto. --Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 21:02, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
So, for example, if you breed a Hitmonlee with a Ditto, and the Hitmonlee knows Hi Jump Kick, the hatched Tyrogue will know Hi Jump Kick too? Baby G 23:47, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
One assumes. I've never really paid attention to egg moves, but Ditto is the only way to breed Tyrogue in any case.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 00:18, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Yh! its true! i had got five Tyrogues and 3 were bred with Ditto. Its the only way of getting e.g Hitmonchan(Punching) with Hi Jump Kick(Not in Hitmonchans moveset)Tusk an prince(Mamoswine)18:19, 24th September 2008 (UTC)

No effort points????

eee... guys, are you really sure that Tyrogue doesn't give any effort points? Serebii's pokedex states something completely different... (1 attack point) Piotr mil 00:58, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Someone must've forgotten to upgrade this page when we went through with the infobox redesign. TTEchidna 01:01, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Abilities and Level Up

I have never seen anything that references this, so I have to ask. How can you, if at all, which ability Tyrogue will obtain once it evolves into Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan or Hitmontop? Is there a correlation or is it random? --Blaziken=Tahu (talk) 18:35, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

The first ability we list for Tyrogue (Guts) corresponds to the first ability we list for each of its evolutions (Limber, Keen Eye, or Intimidate, respectively), and the same for the second ability and the hidden ability. It's because the personality value determines abilities based on whether a certain bit is on or off; the personality value doesn't change upon evolution, so a Tyrogue with the "on" ability will always have the "on" ability after it evolves; one with the "off" ability will likewise always have the "off" ability. (I'm doing a poor job of explaining it, but I hope it's understandable.) Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 20:32, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
