Shield has Lotad here, but Sword gets underleveled Nuzleaf instead of Seedot. I have serious doubts this was intentional, and think it is almost certainly an oversight on the part of GF, but this is ultimately speculation, so I'm not sure if it belongs in the trivia section or not.--[[User:Goukazaru|Gou]] ([[User talk:Goukazaru|talk]]) 01:15, 10 December 2023 (UTC)

Ingredient seller

Nescientist mentioned that he had different items to what I did, although both of us are playing Shield. It's possible they're just randomly selected from a large pool? My first guess would have been that they're based on the day of the week, however. The list I added was the case on Saturday at least. --SnorlaxMonster 12:29, 16 November 2019 (UTC)

Bread (150P), Instant Noodles (150), Precooked Burger (150), Pack of Potatoes (400), Salad Mix (400), Packaged Curry (950) right now. My guess is random (based on three pools), and re-rolled daily. Nescientist (talk) 13:35, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, looks like it's probably just three $150 items, two $400 items, and one $950 item. --SnorlaxMonster 13:46, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
Just for reference, that guy at Dappled Grove (just head west west west) offers Dusk Ball (50W), Wishing Piece (3000W), TR15 (8000W), TR39 (8000W), TR57 (3000W), TR82 (2000W), TR11 (5000W) right now, in that order, in case you want to confirm if that's random. (I'll note that it's Saturday for me, though.) Nescientist (talk) 13:49, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
I should have thought of this earlier: What weather is present for you in each of these areas? --SnorlaxMonster 14:41, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
Not exactly sure if I can tell the two conditions apart reliably, but based on the Pokémon I recall, it should have been Snowing at Rolling Fields and Snowstorm at Dappled Grove. Nescientist (talk) 15:14, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
For me: The first ingredient seller list was during snow, the second during thunderstorm. My Watt trader list was during snow. As for telling the weather apart, you can check the current weather condition on the Town Map. --SnorlaxMonster 15:49, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
I checked as soon as I had the opportunity to, and it was in fact Snowing at both areas for me. Nescientist (talk) 15:43, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
I'm now having the exact same Watt trader items at Dappled Grove that you posted (Sunday/Snowing), while the ingrediate seller has yet something different (but three 150s, two 400s and a 950). Nescientist (talk) 21:09, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
I've just noticed that the TRs increment by 1 each day, so the Watt Trader stock is definitely not random. Whether it just increments indefinitely (wrapping from TM99 back to TR01) or there's some fixed cycle length remains to be seen. --SnorlaxMonster 05:59, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
Given that the difference of TRs of each traders matches (+14/+18/+25/+29), I'd assume it may be a 100-cycle for all of them, with TR wrapping from TR99 to TR00, and Balls being mod 9. Nescientist (talk) 11:27, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
The first TR seems to be wrapping from TR49 to TR00, Balls mod 9 and +24/+18/+25/+29 within each Trader still work out, different Traders are exactly 7 apart (Meetup Spot->East Lake Axewell->Dappled Grove->Giant's Seat->Bridge Field->Hammerlocke Hills->Giant's Cap).. but I'm behind for some reason: given I got TR02 as the first TR at Meetup Spot on Nov 17, I'd expect TR19 17 days later, but I was offered TR16 instead. So I think I got everything sorted out, except why that discrepancy, and how is it initialized. (SnorlaxMonster, is the daily increment still working out for you?) Nescientist (talk) 21:13, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
It has to do with when you save. I definitely got TR17 the next day (Dec 5), but after I turned the game off without saving, I got TR17 again the day after turning it on again, and TR16 just now after again turning off and on again without saving. (I can now see my last save was actually Dec 2, so that should explain the discrepancy.) Nescientist (talk) 00:05, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

Missing Pokemon

During hail/snowstorm, I saw Tympoles in the overworld. There was another pokemon I saw not listed here but I don't which one it was. --Naxame (talk) 09:31, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

I'm not sure there is a glitch in the game, but I found Combees(overworld, Rolling Fields) are available during cloudy weather. This is achieved when I move the player slowly from Dappled Grove(Clear weather) to Rolling Fields. It was like the game system didn't notice the change of location moving from Dappled Gorve to Rolling Fields. --chufong97 (talk) 15:39, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Yes, symbol encounters and wanderers spawn based on the weather in the area the player is currently standing, not the weather in the area the spawn occurs. This is noted on Wild Area#Weather. Examples: Symbol and Wanderer. --SnorlaxMonster 00:46, 10 May 2020 (UTC)

Wanderers

The wanderers in each spot is currently a WIP. Feel free to edit it if you can fill in gaps. I know some (but not all) of the Diggersby vary based on the weather. Anything I have commented out is speculation. --SnorlaxMonster 12:07, 5 January 2020 (UTC)

Not sure if that's clear from the data or the guidebook, but I just checked Mudsdale, Roselia and Ninjask; they're all level 60 for me right now. Nescientist (talk) 14:40, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
I had hoped that when the date guarantees fog everywhere that it would apply even if you haven't defeated the Champion yet. However, based on this video, it looks like even date-specific weather can't bypass the restrictions on weather. So the programmed levels for fog encounters are purely internal and never used. --SnorlaxMonster 14:24, 7 January 2020 (UTC)

ingredient seller

the ingredient seller isn't selling any PokémonDollar.png950 items for me. Pikachu210 (talk) 03:17, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

What is he selling? --SnorlaxMonster 03:36, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
bread, pasta, fried food, sausages, tin of beans, and spice mix. Pikachu210 (talk) 03:50, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
