:Technically speaking, sure.  The eastern coast glitch will literally just barf up whatever fits the situation.  But the game designers did not intend for the Marowak <s>goast</s> ghost to be catchable there. <span style="border: 2px dotted #FFBBDD;"><span style="color:#FF99CC;">梅子</span><span style="color:#CCDDFF;">❄</span><span style="color:#CCDDFF;">❅</span></span> 19:01, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

::Sorry but I disagree, the land strip actually has no defined Pokémon data, hence the game will draw up information for the last list of Pokémon in memory (e.g. if you encounter a Pokémon in Route 1 you will encounter the same list of Pokémon in the land strip). The game also stores such data in this same byte when the name is changed to OLD MAN and then back, that particular Marowak is just because the player had an R in his/her name as 1st 3rd 5th or 7th digit (those letters correspond to a list of Pokémon), the rest of the letters or for the level ranges of the Pokémon. An extra byte makes a Pokémon appear as a ghost, and the old man trick cannot set that, remember there can are also be ghost Ghastlys too, or technically a ghost of any Pokémon. --Chickasaurus 17:38, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Marowak's Ghost on Cinnibar strip

Sorry but I disagree, the land strip actually has no defined Pokémon data, hence the game will draw up information for the last list of Pokémon in memory (e.g. if you encounter a Pokémon in Route 1 you will encounter the same list of Pokémon in the land strip). The game also stores such data in this same byte when the name is changed to OLD MAN and then back, that particular Marowak is just because the player had an R in his/her name as 1st 3rd 5th or 7th letter (those letter numbers correspond to a list of Pokémon - species based on actual symbol), the rest of the or for the level ranges of the Pokémon. An extra byte makes a Pokémon appear as a ghost, and the old man trick cannot set that, remember there can are also be ghost Ghastlys too, or technically a ghost of any Pokémon. --Chickasaurus 17:38, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
