An example of Higuchi's artwork

Shinji Higuchi (Japanese: 樋口真嗣), born September 22, 1965, is an illustrator for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. He started illustrating cards from the HeartGold & SoulSilver Collection, specifically Ho-Oh LEGEND and Lugia LEGEND. So far, he has illustrated 11 cards for the TCG, most of which are Pokémon LEGENDs. For a list of cards he illustrated, look here.

In addition to his work with Pokémon, he is a storyboard artist and special effects wizard. One of the founding members of Gainax, he has worked on many anime and tokusatsu productions. He is the namesake for Neon Genesis Evangelion's Shinji Ikari.
