Rudy
Rudy (Japanese: ? Jigii) is the Gym Leader of the Navel Island Gym. Hhe hands out the Sea Ruby Badge to trainers who defeat him. His strategy is to teach Pokémon moves they would not normally learn.
Rudy is the third Gym Leader that Ash meets while traveling through the Orange Archipelago in the episode Misty Meets Her Match. Rudy ignores Ash and puts all his efforts into wooing Misty after she saves his younger sister, Mahri, from a whirlpool. He eventually accepts Ash's challenge for a badge.
Rudy has something in common with the Mikan Gym Leader Cissy, in that they both test the techniques of their various Pokémon. Rudy has Ash's Squirtle use Water Gun in a sharpshooting test while aboard a moving boat that is heading to Trovita Gym. However, Rudy's training techniques differ from other Gym Leaders that Ash has faced. He doesn't simply teach his Pokémon the most common attacks for their specific type; by using modern dance, he actually tries to improve their ability to learn.
