The Art of Articuno (Japanese: VSフリーザー VS. Freezer) is the thirty-first round of the Red, Green & Blue arc in the Pokémon Adventures manga.

Synopsis

Seeing Blue dying, Red sends Poliwrath against Koga. Koga's Golbat quickly deals with Poliwrath, and orders his Grimer off of Blue and on to Red, where he is held, helpless. Koga explains that he has killed Blue. Right before Golbat cuts off his head, Blue opens his eyes, and his Pidgeot attacks Koga and Golbat. Blue weakly stands up, leaving in his wake a large pool of blood, and reveals that he was wearing a reflective pendant, saving him from the slash to the heart. Koga, quickly recovering from surprise, summons Articuno and orders Blue to stay away, or he will cut off Red's head. He explains that back on the Seafoam Islands, Articuno defended Red from the relentless attacks of Team Rocket. Because of this, they were able to capture it. Now the Articuno uses Ice Beam, freezing Red, Blue, and Blue's Pidgeot solid. Once Koga turns his back on them, Blue's Charizard melts them. Red's Pikachu uses ThunderShock, and Blue's Porygon uses Triple Attack, knocking Koga out cold. They use his Golbat to locate Professor Oak in the basement. Suddenly they hear a scream. The two realize that it is Green, and Red and Blue decide to split up. Before they go, Blue gives Red the Soul Badge, which gives its holder the ability to control any Pokémon that they have caught. Red goes to help Green, and Blue goes to help Professor Oak.
