There are many moves that have appeared in the anime, manga, and TCG that have not appeared in the games:
Pokémon Special
- MegaVolt: a stronger version of Thunder.
Anime
- Thunder Armor: Pikachu uses Thunder on itself and Swellow. This improvised technique increased both Pikachu and Swellow's Speed and Attack, and were able to subdue their opponents with relative ease afterwards.
TCG
The Pokémon Trading Card Game frequently invents new moves for Pokémon to use.
