This card was released as one of the Wizards Black Star Promos, originating from the Japanese Mystery of the Fossils expansion. The English print became available at Pokémon Trading Card Game leagues as a Non Holofoil card on January 8, 2000. A Holofoil Mew card, with the same artwork, became available in April 2000.
