In Japan, this card was distributed through the first issue of Wonderland Magazine. This card was re-released in Japan at the 2004 World Hobby Fair, featuring a gold "WHF" stamp below the artwork. This card was released as one of the {{TCG|Nintendo Black Star Promos}} with different artwork by the same artist to participants at Stadium Challenges in July 2004.

===Stadium Challenge===
The Stadium Challenge-stamped Nintendo Black Star promo version was distributed to participants at 3 separate Stadium Challenge TCG tournaments in July 2004:

* South Stadium Challenge - Arlington, TX (July 10th 2004)
* East Coast Stadium Challenge - Rockville, MD (July 17th 2004)
* West Coast Stadium Challenge - Berkeley, CA (July 17th 2004)

According to tournament results published at the time, the South event saw 101 participants and the East Coast event saw 132 participants, however information for the West Coast may have been lost to time. Assuming that had a similar turnout, this card likely had a distribution of around 350.
