This card was included in the EX FireRed & LeafGreen expansion with artwork by Yukiko Baba, first released in the Japanese Flight of Legends expansion. In Japan, it was released in the Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise Random Constructed Starter Decks on March 19, 2004.

Trivia

The card's evolution line actually reads "Evolves from Drowsee". The card is to be played as if the evolution line reads "Evolves from Drowzee" as it should be. Had the card been ruled "play as printed", this card would have been able to evolve only from the set's Drowzee card which has a similar error.
