The Door to Hope is a key location in Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. It is a portal, located at the peak of Reverse Mountain, that leads out of the Voidlands and back to the real Pokémon world.
History
As the hero and partner Pokémon make their way through the Voidlands, they come across several ancient writings, which tell about the Voidlands and Dark Matter. One of them states that at the peak of Reverse Mountain is the Door to Hope, a "path of light that connects to the world you once knew". However, it also warns that there are countless Void Shadows blocking the light from the Door to Hope.
When the group reaches the peak of Reverse Mountain, they encounter these Void Shadows. They take on the forms of a Mega Tyranitar and a Mega Gengar in an attempt to stop them from reaching the Door to Hope. After the group defeats them, the Door to Hope appears for a moment, but then even more Void Shadows appear, making the door disappear. They keep fighting off the Void Shadows, but more keep appearing endlessly. Mawile and the Legendary beasts decide that the only way is to launch the hero and partner and have them run through the Door to Hope before it disappears. They sacrifice themselves in order for the hero and partner to escape the Voidlands, entrusting them to save the world.
