Celadon City (Japanese: タマムシシティ Tamamushi City, French: Céladopole) is located in central Kanto. The town's motto is "The City of Rainbow Dreams".

Pokémon Trainers often come to Celadon City in order to win the Rainbowbadge from Erika, the Celadon Gym Leader who specializes in Grass-type Pokémon.

Next to the town's Pokémon Center is the Celadon Mansion, where staff members of Game Freak rent a room from an old lady.

On the east side of town, a decorative fountain rests before the large, Celadon Dept. Store.

The southern parts of the city cater to travelers and tourists. There's a hotel, a restaurant, and the Rocket Game Corner. The citizens take pride in the city's beauty and think the casino is bad for their image.

West of Celadon City is Route 16 and Cycling Road. East is Route 7.

Wild Pokémon can be found in a lake in the center of the city.
