Pallet Town to Viridian City
New Towns/Routes in this Section
Pallet Town
After inserting you game into the desired platform to play it, switch it on and you will be shown the opening video. Watch until the Press Start screen shows or press A to skip to it. Then press start alter your settings in the Option menu or get your New Game under way by choosing it.
- Name Entry
After a brief introduction to the Pokémon world from Professor Oak you are asked to enter your name form three Default names or a name of your choice (Seven characters max.) File:PkmnYNameEntry.PNG Then you are asked to do a similar thing for your rival. This guide will refer to the characters as You or Ash and Rival or Gary
Upon entering the names and finishing up your introduction with P.Oak you will arrive in your bedroom, your PC is located in the top-left of your room and you have a Potion stored in it. After obtaining the Potion go down the stairs and leave your house.
- Once you acquire the various means (Old Rod, Surf etc) and have Pokéballs these Pokémon will be obtainable,

After leaving your house to advance the story you must leave the Town by the north exit, after two steps into the grass Prof.Oak will stop you. You are then attacked by a wild Pikachu, which Prof.Oak luckily catches. He then escorts you to his lab. File:PkmnYOak.PNG After a brief chat he will give you a Pokémon and as you try to get it your rival will snatch it, but luckily Prof.Oak gives yo the untame Pikachu he just caught. Enter a Nickname for Pikachu if you wish and try to leave the lab. Gary won't let you leave without a battle with your new Pokémon.

After the battle your Pokémon are automatically healed ready for you trip north to Route 1.
Route 1
- Once you are able to buy Pokéballs these Pokémon are catchable.

This Route is pretty straight forward, as there are no Pokémon to catch until you can get Pokéballs. It heads North going Left first with a person to talk to on the left, and then Right and up until you reach Viridian City.
