EX Crystal Guardians (Japanese: Miracle Crystal) is the name given to an Expansion of cards and Theme Decks for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It featured δ Delta Species Pokémon alongside normal Pokémon.
Set Size
- 100 cards in English release
- 75 cards in Japanese release
Sequence
- 29th English Expansion
- 30th Japanese Expansion
Release Dates
- 10th March 2006 - Japanese Expansion & Half Decks
- 26th August 2006 – Wal-Mart exclusive Theme Deck
- 30th August 2006 - English Expansion
Prereleases were held on the weekends of 12th/13th and 19th/20th August 2006.
Trivia
- The set reveals another new area; an island where δ Delta Species Pokémon and normal Pokémon live in harmony. The island also bears naturally growing crystals, which are said to grant special powers if used correctly.
- Sceptile ex δ, the first Delta Species Pokémon ex debuts in this set.
- A special third Theme Deck (Earth Shower) was released exclusively in Wal-Mart stores in America, making this the first and only Expansion to have three affiliated Theme Decks in the TCG.
- Holographic rare Delta Species Pokémon had a plain foil Pokémon image and border, while normal holographic rare Pokémon had the regular “cosmic” foil treatment.
- The reverse-holographic design for this set is a plain holographic foil with the EX Crystal Guardians set logo. Reverse-holographic versions of holographic rare Delta Species Pokémon have foil name text, HP text, rarity symbol and border. Normal Pokémon have all of these additions bar the holographic border.
- EX Crystal Guardians does not include a secret box-topper card. This is the first set not to include a box-topper since they were introduced in EX Dragon.
- The Prerelease card for this set is Ivysaur.
