Cogita (Japanese: コギト Cogito) is a character who appears in Legends: Arceus.

She bears a striking resemblance to Cynthia, but the relationship between them, if any, is unknown.

In the core series

Cogita is a mature woman that lives alone at the Ancient Retreat. She has a vast knowledge of Hisuian lore.

After the player's exile, Volo guides the players to her home. She explains to them of an artifact known as the Red Chain that could bind the world together and cause the rift to disappear, she also tells the two how to obtain the pieces as well.

Cogita appears in Jubilife Village later on. She states the village to be interest and decides to check what the Clothier has on offer; despite the urgency of events.

In the Post Game. Cogita assists once more, telling them where to find the last few plates. It is also revealed she had one of the plates with her the whole time, having been using it as a chopping board. After Volo and Giratina's defeat she appears within the Galaxy Hall, telling the player about the Forces of Nature and telling them to speak with her after capturing and completing their Pokédex entries. When finishing the task she tells them the rest of the tale, revealing there to be one more of the genies, summoning Enamorus: the Herald of Spring. After she is captured Cogita gives the player the Reveal Glass having told them all the tales of Shinnoh she knows.

Trivia

• Both Cogita and Volo share resemblances to one another alongside Cynthia; however it's unclear if there is any relationship between the two either.
