Necrozma (Japanese: ネクロズマ Necrozma) is a recurring Pokémon character in the anime that first appeared in SM087.

History

Necrozma first appeared in SM087, where it created a dark cloud above Alola, which lowered the energy of all of the adults in the region and chased a wild Lunala and the Solgaleo Nebby through an Ultra Wormhole, trying to absorb them. After Nebby was knocked out during the chase, Necrozma followed Lunala through an opening of the Ultra Wormhole to the Altar of the Sunne.

In SM088, it battled Lunala and, despite the best efforts of Tapu Koko and the Ultra Guardians, eventually absorbed it, allowing it to become Dawn Wings Necrozma. It was then captured in an electric net by the special Matori Matrix unit in Team Rocket. It managed to free itself, but after Nebby appeared, it fought against it. It was forced to release Lunala from its absorption when it attacked with Sunsteel Strike and was knocked into the ocean in front of Melemele Island. It later came out the ocean and absorbed Nebby, allowing it to become Dusk Mane Necrozma. Necrozma then opened an Ultra Wormhole and went through it.

Necrozma appeared again in SM089.

Personality and characteristics

Necrozma was shown to be a highly aggressive Pokémon. It had a strong desire to absorb the light of Lunala it chased after it all the way to Alola taking out anything that stood in its way like Nebby for example when it fought to protect said Legendary Pokémon. According to a legend regarding Necrozma, it was once a benevolent Pokémon in the past when it gave light to the Alola region along with the other members of the Light trio.
