Wow, major props for figuring this out; this looks interesting. (I haven't heard of it anywhere else either anyways.) After some quick researching, this seems to hold up across all Generations, though the base payout itself seems to vary among them. From glancing over the Viridian Forest page, the base payout for Bug Catchers is 10 in Gen1, 12 in Gen3 (at least FRLG), and 16 in HGSS (like you have for DP). I went a bit further and calculated the base payout for Hikers in FRLG; after checking ALL of the ones in Kanto, all except one are consistent with a 36 base payout. The only one that doesn't match is Lenny from the Rock Tunnel, as according to that page he gives out $648 and the highest level of Pokémon he has is 19, which would make the base payout 34.11. However, I noticed that if the payout were $684 he would fit the theory, so it seems more likely to me that it's just a typo. Anyways, this is interesting new info that could help fill in all of the missing payouts for trainers, and it seems useful enough (especially since we don't have rematch payouts for any trainer anywhere, not that we're anywhere near completing the normal trainer lineups...) that could somehow go into every trainer class article (Maybe in a new infobox? Wasn't TTE working on one? Though I can't find it anywhere...). Sooo... If you need help endlessly dividing numbers, I could help. Hell, I'll probably do it anyway, haha.
