Movie catalogue

Okay, so I started the Indigo League Region 1 English catalogue. I left it in my userspace since it's partially incomplete, but you're welcome to add to it :) I just need to scan all the covers I have in my personal collection, haha. I was thinking at the bottom of that page we should catalogue the Indigo League boxed sets as well - I just haven't decided how to format them yet. So let me know what you think!! (omg if you think it's garbage pls recycle as much of my code as you can cuz this took me foreverrrrr lol) --ZestyCactus 03:26, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Haha, the reason i went with the table colours i did was i was going for the red/green color scheme (cuz its Generation I ^^') cuz a lot of manga tables and stuff i colour-code to the generation's colours (see Mysterious Mew for example)
and yeah we can elaborate more on the VIZ Media/Pioneer partnership a little more for the finished article, i think Advanced Generation was when VIZ started doing it themselves. i didn't see much of a point in separate pages for each tape - that was sorta why i wanted a list lol because most of the info in separate pages would be kinda repetitive. i'm cool with adding the ISBN information, though, in addition to the catalogue numbers; since we usually include that for books/manga. anyway whether we do it or not i'd prefer to leave that for now and focus on getting the lists beautiful and perfect~ so yeah you're welcome to start uploading your scans whenever's good for you (you can edit my page too if you like haha)
anyway so i think right now we should finish up the Indigo League article, so we have a model to base the other series' articles on. let me know if you have any other questions/ideas/concerns/etc :) --ZestyCactus 03:44, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
i also gotta figure out how i want the boxed sets organised. because i would like to show individual disc art as well as box cover art... but that doesn't fit in my table as nicely. i have a few ideas though so i will let you know when i put something together. :D --ZestyCactus 03:48, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
Ahh... Gotcha, gotcha. I'd like to do individual discs/tapes too, but baby steps are important. Lists, ho! And as for the color thingy, I totally get it now. Maybe match it with the HEX values on the anime episode list to keep it consistent, though? Another thing worth listing that came to me might be the style of case. Some are thinpack DVDs, cardboard sleeve VHS, clamshell VHS, cardboard snap-cover DVD, or whatever. Some have weird case colors too, like the original Indigo discs having white cases, Battle Frontier being clear, and the Johto League Champions being Gold and Silver. Maybe save for future individual pages?
I dug out my own VHS and noticed a couple of mine are in better shape than yours, so shall I scan those for replacement anyway? All of mine are pretty much mint on the cover shot except for Charizard!! and ROUND ONE! which both have creases. Here's what I got: The Sisters of Cerulean City, Poke-Friends, Thunder Shock!, Primeape Problems, Fashion Victims, Water Blast!, Our Hero Meowth, Hang Ten Pikachu, Show Time!, and the Clamshell edition of the 2000 movie. Triltaison 14:53, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Triltaison
Ok definitely scan the ones we don't have. I was going to scan Pokémon 2000 when i got to the movies so for that one it's whatever's good for you. Poké-Friends and Fashion Victims you could probably re-scan, those are the most rough-looking i think. ^^' style of case might be interesting if i can see much of a variance - but i dont think each format's release has more than one style (e.g. The Power of One only seems to be clamshell VHS, not sleeved) though it could be fun to index which ones are clamshelled, which ones are sleeves, etc. ya cause i had a Johto one in a golden case. :D --ZestyCactus 21:00, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
All righty, I'll start adding stuff this week. I'll mimic the naming for the original Indigo League stuff, but what should I do for the volumes without names? I could just do a running tab at the bottom of this page of what I call the set so you can link to the images. Probably like DP_Set1_01_DVD, Sinnoh_League_Victors_Set1_DVD, and Battle_Frontier_Set2_01_DVD.
The only ones that really vary in style (that I'm aware of) are the yellow-sleeved Indigo League tapes, DVD movies, and both VHS and DVD for Johto Journeys and Johto League Champions. The Johto volumes were either gold or silver. Unfortunately, I don't have any of Johto Journeys at all... And I think my JLC DVDs were given new cases because only volume 2 is gold (bought 'em used -except for that one). So I can't say which is what color or anything, but they're pretty unique when all intact. Maybe just mention the case type in the blurb for each listing's page? -And I know I've seen a slipcover edition of 2000, despite what the internet is telling me. Apparently I should have bought the sucker at the thrift store for the novelty of it. Maybe it was just a promo viewing copy for a rental store or something... Those copies are weird, sometimes. I guess I shouldn't mention it since it ceases to exist. XD Triltaison 19:29, 24 April 2012 (UTC)Triltaison
As an FYI, I've added cover scans for Advanced, Orange Islands, Masterquest, and Johto League Champions with their catalog numbers in file descriptions. Didn't up the covers for the Masterquest Boxes since I wasn't sure what to name them yet. Also added my VHS to the Indigo list in your userspace, and the two DVDs I own of the old release. I'll add Advanced Challenge and Battle later, but I won't do the non-named volumes until you confirm the best way to name the files. Same for the movies.
-And as a random note, I was majorly shocked to see how much Masterquest and JLC DVDs are going for on Amazon and eBay now. Apparently it's a good thing I bought MQ Set 2 for $35 back when it came out since it's $250 now. o.O; Triltaison 07:29, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Triltaison
Line break! Anyway, thanks for all your hard work! Just wondering, are your Orange Islands DVD single releases or a boxed set? the pictures are completely different than on mine!! Umm for non-named volumes, you can just put [Series name] [volume number] so like "Master Quest volume 1 DVD.png" or whatever similar to that. For movies, I would personally prefer "Movie 1 DVD.png" or "Mewtwo Strikes Back DVD.png" whatever's good for you :) i saw a slipcover of M03 once, but it looked really fake! maybe it was a bootleg (or like you said, could have been rental copy perhaps) i will be doing the first boxset and hopefully finishing the Indigo League article tonight if i have time so we can go past that with that example :) i will also check out my DVD collection, i think i might have some that you don't, not totally sure lol. --ZestyCactus 21:44, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
My Orange Islands discs are the original single-volume releases. I don't have the re-release set since I already owned it. I'll start upping all the no-named volumes now, too. I did notice that my scans are a lot... lighter compared to yours. They kind of stand out when yours and mine are placed side by side. I did some gamma correction on a newer version of Water Blast to see if it blended together better that way. I think it did improve... What do you think? I can go back and fix those scans, tagging the older ones for deletion if you think it'd look better. They look fine when it's just mine all together, so I didn't notice the coloring until they were uploaded next to yours.
Just for the record so we don't double-scan, I'll leave the Indigo Boxsets to you. These are the ones I have and haven't uploaded yet: all DP boxsets, all DP:BD boxsets, both Sinnoh League victors sets that are out currently, all Battle Frontier sets, Pikachu's Winter Vacation, Mewtwo Returns, every movie except for Zoroark in their original state of release, and volume 4 of the UK's Region 2 Chronicles release. I also just ordered the 3-volume UK Chronicles boxset recently, so I'll have that to add soon too. ^^ I don't have Zoroark, the recent multi-packs of the movies, any of Johto Journeys, or any of Galactic Battles. I don't have any VHS past Indigo League except the 2000 clamshell, either. Do you happen to have any of the Johto, JLC, or Advanced tapes? Apparently the JLC tapes are weird and don't correlate to any DVD or even episode order, so they're gonna be annoying. Oh, and do I need to scavenge images for things we don't have from Amazon's stock images? Triltaison 02:49, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Ok, I will leave the DP ones to you then so we don't double-scan ourselves. Do you have the Victini movie(s)? I have that and Zoroark so I can scan those two. Leave the missing images empty for now, we will deal with those later. I also have M03 and M04 as well as Mewtwo Returns on VHS so I will scan those showboxes as well. Let me know if I missed anything.
In other news.... look, mainspace!! --ZestyCactus 23:24, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Oh, I forgot this. Do you know what this DVD is?? it duplicates some of the episodes from A Hole Lotta Trouble and it says it's Volume 4. I got it at the thrift store and idk where it's from. --ZestyCactus 01:32, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
Ok sorry for like the 36th message in a row, but I started this and I'll need you to fill in the content for the singles because I don't have them so I don't have any more information on them lol (basically, I dont know what the episode sequence is) so if you could help me fill in the content that would be super *__* --ZestyCactus 01:55, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
I have Victini, but not Zoroark (literally every movie except Zoroark). Apparently missed it when it came out in stores. -And I'm pretty sure that weird Advanced volume is from the boxed sets. Advanced had two 3-disc box sets released after all the singles came out in a repackage, so that'd be the first volume of the second set seen here: [1]. Never got those since I had the singles, but I think they had a relatively small print run because I don't remember seeing them around much. It must not have been popular either, because AC and AB didn't get the same treatment. All-righty, now... *fist-pump* Time to upload some images. XD Triltaison 03:55, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
Oh! I meant to ask, do I need to scan in the third Indigo box set? I noticed it wasn't on the linked page. I also noticed on the movies page there are several great scans of some of the movies we could take advantage of. The images for Jirachi, Lucario, Ranger, Darkrai, Giratina, Arceus, and Zoroark are all just scans of the R1 DVD covers. I'll happily do my own if you think any of those aren't as great as they could be, though.Triltaison 04:01, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
Line break again! I scanned in and uploaded everything except Lucario, Ranger, Darkrai, Giratina, Arceus, and Zoroark for the reason I mentioned above. Also, I'm crap for wikicode, but I made a test for the Battle Frontier list on my user page. The template colors are wrong, but I can do these barebones things and you fix the colors so they'd be mainspace worthy. Does it look okay enough? --Triltaison 22:23, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
If you could scan the third Indigo box set, that would make my life since I can't find it to buy anywhere!! I think for now the existing scanned movie covers should be fine, can always update if they end up looking bad for some reason. Also, the template on your user page looks great, I can add the Emerald colours whenever you're ready :) --ZestyCactus 15:51, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Ok, let me know when you want the Battle Frontier content mainspaced. In the meantime, I have mainspaced my Orange Islands page, seen here. As well, I made this awesome template here, which I figured is easily expandable to include other languages/regions. Also adds some exposure to the pages if readers can navigate between articles easily. Anyway, just let me know if you need anything ^o^ --ZestyCactus 16:08, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Battle Frontier is as ready as it can be, I think. Maybe you could slap on a summary blurb at the top? You know, the whole "this is the such-and-such season" with a link to a list of the episodes or something. I'll add the third Indigo Box in a couple of days (gonna be out of town Thursday through Sunday), but gonna start a couple more of the listings on my userpage. The template linking between seasons looks awesome, and so is Orange Islands mainspace! :D --Triltaison 05:31, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I've been a very busy Bidoof. First, just noting I added the third Indigo Box to the mainspace. I snagged Galactic Battles set 1 for $10 at a used video store just this past weekend, so I was able to add an entry for it (don't own the other three yet though). So, added info for MasterQuest, JLC, DP, DP:BD, DP:GB, and DP:SLV to my userpage in addition to Battle Frontier. All their info is complete except for sets two through four of DP:GB and the JLC VHS. I did dig up most of the info for the tapes, but don't know catalog numbers and I can't scan 'em since I don't own 'em. I think I found all of the ones that were released, but another look wouldn't hurt. There's a missing volume 52, going chronologically by the official volume numbers, but it seems like it was just accidentally left out by Viz. I think it might have to do with the last two episodes of Johto Journeys not getting a home video release... maybe they were supposed to be on that missing volume. --Triltaison 07:58, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

(resetting indent) Hey, long time! I was wondering if you wanted me to work with anything else in your userspace to convert to the mainspace. You've done great work. :D --ZestyCactus 12:04, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

Apologies! I'm wrapping up my final semester before getting my B.A. in English this December, so I've been pretty busy as of late. I'd love some help with the table colors, still. I just suck at wikicode and don't have the time to learn it alongside RL. ^^;; With that done, I can do the little blurbs and whatnot containing the info for each disc/set that's been left out still. -And I'm hoping to snag the rest of the missing DP seasons by the end of the year, so they might also be added soon. --Triltaison 04:44, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I did Battle Frontier, Diamond and Pearl and Master Quest, let me know what you think!! Thanks again for all your hard work! --ZestyCactus 07:33, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Hope you don't mind me "butting" in here...Did you guys need help with the other seasons? I have all the Region 1 DVDs for Seasons 6-8 and 11-14. --HoennMaster 19:06, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
