Your Redirects

We generally do not allow redirects for misspellings as it reinforces bad spelling; especially if the redirect gets linked to in other articles. Most of the time people can still find the page through the search options when they misspell it. As such i'd kindly ask you to refrain from making any further such redirects. Two of the redirects I created weren't misspellings, though. Dogas is the romanization used by PM fansubs in BW083. Pendoraa is the literal romanization of ペンドラー. TorNyan (talk) 18:03, 12 October 2025 (UTC)

I'd just like to point out that while redirects serve as a navigational tool, we really don't need redirects for every spelling a fansite might use. If only because it can also lead to inconsistent spelling/translations here on the wiki. 4iamking 20:01, 10 November 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for the tip. I assume you now noticed the redirects that I created for Pikachu shorts and a few of the movies. I wasn't planning to add every spelling under the sun, just the ones used by the fansub groups whose subtitles I use. I get the argument for not having abundant of redirects for spellings/romanizations of Pokémon species names. I hope you'll excuse me speaking candidly, but the risk that redirects for fan translations of titles of specials and movies would lead to inconsistent writing in the wiki seems very negligible, and not outweighed by the benefit of helping people find the stuff they need. Especially with the Pikachu shorts, which I feel is a nuisance to navigate. But if you tell me that it's not the case—that it's a very real consequence—then I trust you. Dogars makes no sense by the way. I know it's the trademarked name. But it feels like a mistake by Nintendo or GameFreak. Reasonable of PM to use Dogas. TorNyan (talk) 01:27, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
