Welcome to Bulbapedia, Superjothan!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Data accuracy

Hi, I appreciate you recently updating the Poké Portal event Pokémon page with new events, but I just wanted to stress that it is important to also prioritize data accuracy when copying the template from a previous event, to maintain maximum accuracy. If you are unsure about a particular characteristic of an event it's better not to publish it (or hide it in wiki text) than to publish wrong information. 4iamking 19:12, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Heya again; I appreciate the enthusiasm you have for keeping the Poké Portal News page up to date but there does seem to be some persistent inaccuracies in the data you are suppling; I'm just wondering if you are able to share how you are getting the data, if you are able to share your source? 4iamking 05:10, 23 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Looks like I was way of for the timer but Serebii but doesn't even tell about it. Superjothan (talk) 14:10, 23 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Ideally, you should try to get the data from the source; we shouldn't be copying data from Serebii because there is always the chance that they make a mistake in their data, or just dont display certain parameters. For this you can use for example the Event Gallery Project Pokémon maintains on Github as they upload the files there unmodified directly from BCAT. All the data for the events is saved in the respective .json folders; The enemy arrays specifically should give you all the data as it relates to the encounter characteristics (the reward array will ofc give data on the rewards etc.). I hope this helps :) 4iamking 15:21, 23 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
To further give an concrete example, from the most recent event you can find the general characteristics here while the characteristics of the encounter are stored here (e.g. the "hpcoef" parameter will tell you the encounter's health modifier and the "gamelimit" parameter will tell you the matchup length); we also have various index lists such as this one for Pokémon moves that you can use to cross-reference ids against. Do let me know if you have questions, or if i can clear up anything :) 4iamking 15:39, 23 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
