Method categories
Hey, just wanted to drop by, saying it was me who undid your recent addition to the category pages. As I said in my edit summary, while interesting, these have nothing to do with the damage category as described in that article, so mainly that's why. But if you're interested in these, we do have a category for them :) And also thanks for joining Bulbapedia! Nescientist (talk) 21:18, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- I see you've left me a message... after I left you an entire ramble! If you see this first: WARNING! There's a long ramble on your talk page!
- Also, I just want to say, that category maybe should be linked... somewhere. I tried to find it, but it seems only those who know how to search for things here can find it. Maybe on the Move page there could be a link to a category for related topics? Sort of like a hub or crossroads for anything relating to moves. RubberCrowy (talk) 15:53, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
- First of all, it's worth noting that the category is being linked to from the template
{{Moves by usage method}}which is used on all of the pages about these "categories" (or whatever you call them), and these in turn are being linked to from the respective move pages (and elsewhere). That's not exactly hidden, I would presume, but sure, it can be even more accessible. - Second, I maintain that it really shouldn't be on the damage/move category page. (You already agreed to that, just wanted to stress that "more accessible" wouldn't be that page for me.)
- Third, while I also don't believe "damage category" is official in any capacity, "category" is used for physical vs. special vs. status (as in move selection and/or status screens, I believe), but that page title could also refer to other things (see category). I already stated my support to the suggestion to move that page to "move category" (which imo better captures what it's actually about), but yeah, I agree with you there as well. No matter how you put it, it's still a different topic (as User:Team Rocket Grunt has also pointed out).
- Finally, I don't take anything you said to be mean. Rather, I appreciate that you laid out your feelings and ideas in such detail, it really helps me understand you better (and engage with you better). Nescientist (talk) 20:39, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
