Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, RMTrev!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here!--Theryguy512 00:49, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cynthia

theres no reason to summarize it considering they look almost exactly the same. MAGNEDETH 01:20, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

No, I just don't see it. Being blonde and wearing black are all I see and that's not good enough. --RMTrev 01:26, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, if the resemblance is there, why not note it--336Darth157Cookie168Monster141 01:28, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

yur exactly right. if i have short blonde hair and a black shirt, i most cirtainly do not look like Cynthia. but Cynthia and Freya both have similar length long hair, both wear black trenchcoats (sort of), have things around their ears, blah blah blah. they dont look EXACTLY the same, but the page doesnt say that, it says they look similar. i should mention i have no idea what "Chobits" is, but after a trip to google, i found out they do look almost exactly alike. ALMOST being the key. that being said, its a trivia section, it filled with "useless knoledge" (for lack of a better term). Darth Cookie is right also. if its true, why not note it? YOU may not see the reseblance (for some reason) but if i do, Cookie does, and whomever put it there does, then that kind of says it really. MAGNEDETH 01:33, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't know what Chobbits is, just if someone sees a similarity, then you should post it in the talk page to be discussed, and then posted. But if the resemblance is there, use it--336Darth157Cookie168Monster141 01:36, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh, well then, that makes it a little less vague. A little. And yes I know what trivia means, and references to KAWAII DESU japanese cartoons is about as useless as you can get. But I can guarantee that this sort of nonsense will never pass as notable on Wikipedia itself. I know you said that this is "just a pokemon site", but you all seem to be taking this a little too seriously for just that. Anyway, I've said all I need to say so I will now do better things with my time. RMTrev 01:48, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

.*cough* BULBAPEDIA =/= WIKIPEDIA *cough* Tina δ 01:50, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
yea, Bulbapedia and Wikipedia are not one-in-the-same. the only similarity here is the layout. we only care about getting the true facts that matter, if somone wants to add some trivia, thats allowed. (unlike wikipedia) now, i dont go around looking for similarities, but, if its notable, it cant hurt to be there, right? now. lets put this mess behind us, and move on. MAGNEDETH 01:55, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia doesn't even see articles on individual Pokémon as notable but there is no way that we would ever merge our own species articles into (very uninformative) lists. Bulbapedia is a specialist website; by nature we are very different to Wikipedia. The general consensus is to allow this kind of stuff so please leave it alone. --FabuVinny T-C-S 02:02, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I like how you say that you only care about the "REAL FACTS" but at the same time condone the addition to any damn thing imagined that looks like it could be related, but not really, like in this case. If the character designer actually did base Cynthia from whatsername, then fine that's good trivia. But as far as I can tell this resemblance, real or imagined, is purely coincidental. Though I'm sure you'll not read a word of this, since I've realized that arguing with otaku fags is completely pointless. RMTrev 02:31, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

whats otaku? and as i stated, "Trivia" is what it is. its not like it says it in the actual description. on top of that, i dont see why yur even making a big deal out of it. they look alike, and as with many other Pokemon related junk, she probibly was designed after Freya. do we know that for a fact? no. if we did, then it wouldnt be in trivia. so, instead it goes into trivia as if to imply, yes, they look similar. but thats it. MAGNEDETH 02:39, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
The resemblance is there - that is a fact. And if you don't want to be here, then please don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Magnedeth, an otaku is an obsessed fan of something. The word has entered the English-language as a derogatory term towards fandoms of Japanese products. --FabuVinny T-C-S 02:46, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
oh, well, i dont follow the anime scene. i just say that the two look the same, so, why not have it there? i guess "RMTrev" is blind, because the similarity is plain as day. MAGNEDETH 02:51, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
