(Pokémon) suffix and {{p}}

Q: In your opinion, should we keep the {{p}} template in use? Thus, should pages about Pokémon still have the (Pokémon) suffix?

A: I strongly disagree. Other EP wikis do not or didn't have the suffix for pages about Pokémon, except the now-defunct Portuguese-language LANDpedia. Thus, the (Pokémon) suffix should not be kept anymore. However, we would have to keep the {{p}} template for archival and backwards compatibility purposes. --C.Ezra.M_{something to say?} 09:31, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

Not sure what that Q and A style is supposed to be, but.. I think when PokéWiki dropped that suffix some years ago, they got rid of that template entirely and began using direct links (which should be one of the benefits to begin with). I see no reason to deliberately keep that template if we were to drop that suffix - it can just be replaced wherever it is used. (I also don't see why the actions of other wikis should mandate what Bulbapedia has to do.. but at the same time, there's definitely an argument or two..) Nescientist (talk) 15:03, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
