Swiss chard is the alias of Aaron DeLeo, who is a member of Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.
Appearances by the name Swiss Chard
Swiss Chard was originally the name of DeLeo's guitarist on RockBand, the videogame by Harmonix. A multi-word name of a vegetable was desired, and swiss chard fit that criteria perfectly. Since then it is DeLeo's prefered name at Which Which, the sandwhich chain; his Create-A-Player quarterback for San Diego State in NCAA Football 2008-2009, the games by EA Sports; the name of the trainer in his Pokémon: Blue Version and Pokémon Silver Version, the Gameboy Pocket and Gameboy Color games by Nintendo.
In Pokémon Blue Version
Armed with his Gameboy Color, Swiss chard began Blue by selecting a Bulbasaur named EliManning, while his rival, T.Brady, selected a charmander. Swiss defeated the Elite Four and T.Brady with Sedan, an Alakasam; Leppard, a Golem; Akon, a Gyarados; Utah, a Zapdos; Colorado, an Articuno; and Wyoming, a Moltres; all at Level 65. He then captured Mewtwo, which was named Plaxico, and replaced Sedan with it in the lineup. After training the rest of the party to level 70 (Plaxico's level) he began beating Gym Leader Castle in Pokemon Stadium and has won two Eevees, 2 Omanites, a Kabuto, and a Hitmonlee, all of which he has traded to his Pokemon Silver Version game.
In Pokemon Silver Version
Swiss chard began Silver by choosing a Totodile named Strahan, while his Rival, Moss, stole a Chikorita. Swiss decided to put his broken Gold Version (it would not hold a saved game for more than an hour) to good use by trading Osi, a Cyndaquil; and Toomer, a Chikorita; from his Gold Version to his silver version. He decided to train one Pokémon of wach type on Silver version to be prepared for anything, and is currently training a large team, including the two Eevees and the Hitmonlee aquired from his Blue Version, to level 25 just outside of Ecruteak City. He hopes the two Eevees will soon evolve into Umbreon and Espeon, just as his Togepi evolved into Togetic.
