It all started when I was about 5 years old.

My big brothers both had pokemon games, Pokemon Red and Blue Versions. At that time I watched the anime every Saturday morning and really liked it, although the characters were completely unknown to me. One brother let me have a go on Pokemon Red, and although I had no idea what the controls were (I just kept pressing "A" and so kept ordering his lv.100 Venusaur to use Tackle) I won the battle (against a Pidgey) and felt extremely pleased with myself. As said brother had completed the game and as the next generation was already out, he made a present of Pokemon Red for my birthday one year. Even though I STILL didn't really get it (I kept using the same Pokemon and wound up completing the game just using a lv.83 Blastoise) I was really, really happy and was completely hooked on Pokemon from that day on. I now have Red, Yellow, Crystal, Saphirre, FireRed, Pearl, Colliseum, Trading Card Game and Puzzle Challenge and I LOVE IT!!! (I do actually understand the concept of the game NOW.)
