Usage

This template is to be used in pages like List of Pokémon by evolutionary line. Each usage corresponds to a branched line consisting of exactly four Pokémon: a stage-one Pokémon, a stage-two Pokémon, and two stage-three Pokémon that can evolve from the stage-two Pokémon. It can be used without a header to add multiple related lines to the same family. It needs to be invoked within a table which includes at least one instance of Template:lop/evo to specify the correct column widths.

Parameters

Ordinal parameters

• 1: (Optional) Header, gets followed by the word "family". If this is left empty and no headeroverride is provided, the header row is removed.
• 2: Type color for header row.
• 3: National Pokédex number of first stage.
• 4: Species name of first stage
• 5: Evolution method from first stage to second.
• 6: National Pokédex number of second stage.
• 7: Species name of second stage.
• 8: Evolution method from second stage to third (branch 1).
• 9: National Pokédex number of third stage (branch 1).
• 10: Species name of third stage (branch 1).
• 11: Evolution method from second stage to third (branch 2).
• 12: National Pokédex number of third stage, (branch 2).
• 13: Species name of third stage (branch 2).

Named parameters (all optional):

• notename: If provided, creates a ref after the header text in group "note" with the given name. Ignored if headeroverride is present.
• headeroverride: Displayed instead of parameter 1.
• form1: Suffix to be added to the name of the image file used for stage 1. Probably starts with a hyphen.
  • form2, form3a, and form3b are similar.
• formname1: Text added to the displayed species name for stage 1.
  • formname2 formname3a, and formname3b are similar.
• anotherform: Include anotherform=true (or any other value except blank) to remove the bottom rounding so that another line can be added below it.

Example

As mentioned, this template needs to be called in a table which includes Template:lop/evo, as it does not specify column widths itself. This is why the example includes a non-branching line.

There is only one type of use case currently. It only requires the ordinal parameters to be included as detailed above, along with any form specifiers as needed.

Families with multiple lines, and notes

As of the creation of this version of the template, there are no Pokémon who utilize these features, but they are present for consistency with other templates.

When creating multiple lines in the same family, for every line in the same family except the first, ensure that that parameter 1 is blank. For every line except the last, include anotherform=true in the template.

The notename parameter can be provided to append a ref tag to the heading; it will have a group value of "note" and name value as passed in. If using it, ensure a corresponding ref tag defining the text is included in the references.

The heading can be overridden entirely using the headeroverride parameter. If this is provided, the header will be displayed even if parameter 1 is blank.
